The MREA is a registered provider of the NABCEP PV Associate Exam, and many of our courses have been approved for continuing education by NABCEP. The chart below illustrates the many career pathways that follow earning your NABCEP Associate Credential.
MREA Solar Ready Internships:
Growing the Midwest Solar Workforce
The Solar Ready internship program is designed to help students and recent graduates gain work experience in the solar industry and to provide solar contractors the opportunity to provide hands-on education to future employees. The MREA will maintain records of all potential interns and provide prospective employers the opportunity to post internship opportunities. The MREA will also provide stipends to participating interns upon completion of 160 hours of work experience within the program.
Who can apply?
Students currently pursuing technical or 4-year college programs in solar or renewable energy and new professionals who have completed solar or renewable energy programs at a technical or 4-year college.
To receive the Solar Ready stipend, students must:
- Acquire an internship with a solar contractor
- Submit verification of internship by solar contractor
- Complete 160 hours of work experience with the contractor
- Complete a final assessment of the internship experience to MREA
