ST 101.01 Solar Domestic Hot Water

Course Description

This one-day course uses a combination of lecture and classroom activities to teach the basics of solar thermal systems with an emphasis on northern climate systems.  Participants will learn how solar domestic hot water (SDHW) system work, describe and identify components, understand the best application and limitations of each system type, define the solar window, make hot water efficiency recommendations, and estimate system loads.

  • 8.0 credit hours for WI Dwelling Contractor Qualifier Certification
  • 8.0 credit hours for WI UDC - HVAC Inspector License
  • 4.0 credit hours for WI UDC - Plumbing Inspector License
  • 7.0 credit hours for WI Journeyman and Master Plumber License
  • 7.0 credit hours for WI Journeyman and Master Plumber - Restricted Appliance License
