PV 305.02 Advanced PV Systems Design

Course Description

This one-day course provides an advanced level of lecture that prepares the participants for designing photovoltaic (PV) systems. In-depth discussion topics include product specification, product integration, system design capabilities and limitations, major system design issues, common mistakes, and solutions.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Define site issues including: client goals, array placement, balance of system placement
  • Explain how to choose the appropriate system type
  • Identify product choices and explain methods for product specification
  • Define code issues in product choices and hardware specification
  • Define methods and tools for properly sizing PV systems
  • Explain methods for product integration
  • Identify the capabilities and limits of specific systems
  • Present common mistakes in system design and their solutions

Recognized CEU's for Licensed Professionals:

  • 7.0 continuing education credits for NABCEP PV Installer Certification
