PVO 407.01 Battery-Based PV Systems Online

Course Description

PV systems that employ batteries require significant design considerations. Whether using batteries with a bimodal or stand-alone system, battery selectiion and sizing is challenging. This online course will provide a comprehensive overview of the issues surrounding the use of batteries for PV applications.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Define the current battery types and their uses
  • Present the designs for PV systems with batteries
  • Explain the methods for balancing the components of a PV system with batteries
  • Identify the proper use for each battery type
  • Define the proper protocols for maintaining batteries and extending their lives

Recognized CEU's for Licensed Professionals:

  • 7.0 continuing education credits for NABCEP PV Installer Certification
  • 7.5 credit hours for WI Commercial Electrical Inspector Certification
  • 7.5 credit hours for WI Journeyman and Master Electrician Certification
  • 7.5 credit hours for WI UDC - Electrical Inspector Certification
