The Midwest Renewable Energy Association promotes renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable living through education and demonstration.
Together with partners around the Midwest, we work to expand renewable energy adoption through innovative programs, renewable energy training, and educational events. The MREA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

MREA Volunteer Coordinator
Job Type: Temporary, Part/Full Time
- Job Description: The Volunteer Wisconsin AmeriCorps member will support the development of MREA’s capacity to engage volunteers. This individual will work with the Events Director to support the management of The Energy Fair Volunteer Program in Custer, WI. This includes but is not limited to building upon our current volunteer base, scheduling volunteers, solicitation and coordination of volunteers, volunteer outreach via social media, event attendance, phone calls, data management, and materials preparation. During The Energy Fairs, this individual will be responsible for coordinating volunteers on site.
Minnesota Solar Instructor
Job Type: Part Time, Contract Basis
- Job Description: As an MREA Solar Instructor you will become a part of the Midwest’s leading renewable energy instruction team with MREA, helping to grow a quality solar industry workforce. This particular instructor position will be contracted to work for the Challenge Incarceration Program (CIP) out of the Minnesota Department of Corrections facility near Willow River, MN. This person will deliver seven entry level courses as well as group study sessions to help prepare students for the NABCEP PV Associate Exam as part of MREA’s Solar Training Academy. Courses are aligned with NABCEP PV Associate Certificate Learning Objectives.
