Connecting job seekers with a pathway into the growing solar energy industry.
The Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) will host a Career Fair at its 31st Annual Energy Fair in Custer on June 24th and 25th. The Career Fair, which will take place from 5-7 pm both evenings in the Orange Flag Tent, will give job seekers the opportunity to network and showcase knowledge and qualifications to companies that are currently hiring in the growing clean energy industry.
An Employee and Educator Roundtable will precede the Career Fair on Saturday, giving job seekers and educators alike the opportunity to hear from employers about what skills they seek, and hear from the MREA and other educators about the skills they teach. Information about the Wisconsin Department of Instruction’s Energy Career Pathway will be available. A variety of technical and community colleges with renewable energy programs will also be exhibiting at the Fair, so participants will have the opportunity to learn about renewable energy training throughout the Midwest. The MREA Training Programs will also be a highlight of the Career Fair.
“It’s a great time to be starting a career in the Renewable Energy Industry! We’re excited about the Career Fair, which will give students, job seekers, and employers a chance to network in person as well as an opportunity for training providers to showcase their training options,” notes Ellen Barlas, Solar Workforce Manager at MREA.
Entrance to the Career Fair is free to all job seekers and potential students with general admission to The Energy Fair. The clean energy industry is booming, and the Midwest is a place of innovation and growth. The MREA is committed to creating a just energy transition for all. Information about the Career Fair can be found at www.theenergyfair.org/career-fair/. Visit solarenergy.jobs to learn more about the MREA’s Career Resource Center.
