As Solar Program Coordinator for the MREA’s Solar on School’s initiative, Amanda is working to help facilitate the expansion of solar PV installations on Wisconsin K-12 schools. By providing access to technical assistance, educational opportunities, and an online PV Development for Wisconsin K-12 Schools course, among other resources, Solar on Schools is changing the solar PV landscape in Wisconsin, one school at a time.
Amanda obtained her MS in Environment and Resources from UW Madison’s Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies where she focused her research on business sustainability management. She first became passionate about environmental sustainability while obtaining her BA in Economics and International Relations at Drake University. She continues to volunteer her time for the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council and Women in Sustainability groups. When she’s not focusing on environmental causes, she enjoys being in the environment in the form of camping, running half marathons, and hiking national parks.
